About This Project
After receiving a fresh rebrand, DRT Transportation was looking to update their website with a better user experience and modern design. With their great track record for customer retention, the site needed to boast the relationship DRT has with current customers and attract new business as well.

Challenge
DRT’s original site presented an abundance of information to the user but the main functionality of User Logins and Request A Quote got lost in the graphical page header. The main goals of the new site were to increase sales for DRT and to appeal to prospective employees.
User Experience
My role in this project started during the UX phase, taking gathered requirements and translating them into wireframes and user workflows. The new site needed to appeal to new and current clients, as well as prospective employees. We included calls to action to request a quote in multiple page sections, brought forward DRT differentiators, and surfaced services with large entry points to their dedicated pages.
Moodboards
Moodboards are presented as an unstructured collage of elements that evoke the feeling and look of the site. These boards contain images, colors, font choices, and other visual elements. This step gives the client an opportunity to provide input on the visual direction of the updated site. These boards are presented as an idea and are not intended to be final visual designs.
DRT wanted a strong emphasis on being a people-oriented and forward-moving company. We chose imagery that showed people working side by side, visualizing the company’s commitment to customer support and partnership. Additional images that visualized the concept of transportation and moving forward help reinforce DRT as a facilitator of transportation. The bright and warm colors give the site pops of energy and highlight important information and call to actions.
Solution
We created a site that successfully promotes DRT as a people-first company. Clients, both old and new, can be confident that DRT will be available through every step of their partnership. Employees, both current and prospective, can take pride in working for a company that is modern and forward-thinking. Requesting a quote is widely available throughout the site, increasing sales opportunities. A simplified navigation and clean page structure gives the user an overall enjoyable experience.
